Lifespan: 1928-04-26 — 2002-05-07
Summary
Dorothy Krumpos, 74, of Green Bay, died May 7, 2002, at Oregon Manor, Oregon, Wisconsin, from complications of Huntington’s Chorea, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She graduated from SS. Peter & Paul Elementary and East High School. On Sept. 27, 1947, she married Donald H. Krumpos in Green Bay; he preceded her in death on June 11, 1964.
Dorothy worked as a library secretary at Green Bay Public Elementary Schools (Wequiock, Eisenhower, Webster, Howe) for 20 years, retiring in 1990. This was a perfect job because of her love of children and reading.
She was active in her community: a den mother in scouting and a 4-H Knitting & Home Furnishings leader. Her creative talents filled her home with handmade items. She loved gardening and birdwatching from her patio door. Summers were spent at the family cottage on Green Bay.
Dorothy’s greatest joy was her family. Widowed at 35, she endured many tragedies but carried on for her children, teaching resilience and contentment. She was remembered as truly selfless, always giving of herself.
