- Born during the Napoleonic Wars era
- Son William John emigrated to Minnesota c. 1850s — Stephen stayed in Kent
- “Eastes” is his father’s name — Eastes Kendall. Not a middle name but a patronymic. Eastes is a Kent surname.
- Ann’s surname: “Fostall” per FamilySearch, “Forstall” per Geni — may be a place-name alias for the hamlet of Forstal near Wingham, not a hereditary surname. See ann-forstall.md for full research.
- Ann’s parents: FamilySearch tree lists Henry (M) and Martha (F) — no surnames. Christening 27 Jan 1793, Wingham. Unverified — need to check attached sources and browse parish register images.
- Birth: FamilySearch says c. 1795, Geni says 1797 — 2-year discrepancy
- Death: July 1880, Eastry (Geni narrows to month)
