Two Rivers, Wisconsin lists Domažlice, Czech Republic as its sister city — the same Domažlice that Joseph’s birthplace of Trhanov sits ~5 km from, in the Chodsko region. The sister-city sign Foggy drove past in Two Rivers is pointing at the Krumpos family’s own origin point: Domažlice was the market/parish/administration town for Trhanov before Joseph emigrated in 1867.

• Same emigration wave. The sister-city partnership (signed May 2017) grew out of Col. Matt Konop, who recognized Domažlice as his own ancestral hometown when his advance party helped liberate it in May 1945. The Konop family had emigrated from the Domažlice area in the 1860s — the same decade and same corner of Bohemia as Joseph Krumpos (immigrated 1867).
