Mary Young
Lifespan: 1889-02-11 — 1978-04-01
Summary
Born February 11, 1889 in Outagamie County, Wisconsin. Married John Bodoh at age 17 or younger. Mother of three Bodoh children: Leonard (1908–1927), Marie Ellen (1906–1998), and Albinus George (1914–1982). John Bodoh died in 1915, leaving Mary widowed at 26 with three young children (Marie 9, Leonard 7, Albinus an infant). The 1920 census shows her widowed at 30 with the three Bodoh children still at home (Marie 13, Leonard 11, Albinus 5).
She later remarried John A Siudzinski (Polish-American, likely Outagamie County) between 1920 and ~1923, and had at least two more children with him: Luke Siudzinski and Lorraine (Siudzinski) Vincent (b. 1923-06-23 New London, d. 2014-01-20). Marie’s half-siblings via this second marriage are confirmed via Lorraine’s 2014 obituary at Cotter Funeral Home, Green Bay.
Died April 1, 1978 in Green Bay at age 89. Buried at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum — same cemetery as granddaughter-in-law Odile, grandson-in-law Claude, and granddaughter Marie.
Appears in a five-generation photograph (~1975) with daughter Marie, granddaughter Dorothy, great-grandson Keith, and great-great-grandson Don (as a baby). From the memoir: “my great-great-grandmother Mary Young, who would die four years later” — death 1978 confirms this (photo ~1974–1975).
